From Dorking town centre: A25 east towards Reigate for approx 1.5 miles then turn right (south) into Brockham Lane. Approx 0.5 mile, continue over bridge, then left at village green. Pub is at far left corner, facing south.

Public Transport

There are usually several taxis serving Dorking Station which has frequent services. Or it's a pleasant walk of 2 miles.
Betchworth station has limited services but is only 1.4 miles away. See www.nationalrail.co.uk for details.

Walk & Location Information

The Walk: 2.75 miles easy walking. No stiles, there are kissing gates. Maybe suitable for pushchairs. Muddy in 2 places.

The Venue: The Inn on the Green (a Grumpy Mole pub) has a large car park or there is parking nearby. Food is available all day on Sundays until 9pm. No special childrens meals but small portions can be ordered. There is a garden. Beers are London Pride and Sussex best bitter. Stage 1

Turn left from the pub and continue until you reach a gate with PRIVATE on it. Stage 1 ends at this gate

Stage 2

Turn left and cross bridge over River Mole, continue on until blue Greensand Way marker where you go right. Stage 2 ends at the waymarker.

Stage 3

Having turned right at the waymarker post continue on this narrow path running above the River Mole. This runs behind houses and then continues between fields. End of

Stage 4

Continue over bridge and through gate, keep walking until you get to another gate and go through. End of Stage 4.

Stage 5

Cross tarmac drive and go through gate into Churchyard - NO CLUES ON GRAVES. Exit via stone gateway opposite The Dolphin pub. End of Stage 5

Stage 6

At main road turn right, keep to grass path by wall, follow road to bridge then take public footpath on right through kissing gate, over field to another kissing gate where stage 6 ends.

Stage 7

Keep walking over bridge bit muddy to kissing gate. Keep to right over field to stile and oak tree continue along the ridge. Lovely views to the right. Go through kissing gate up steps and follow path to footpath sign and turn right. Go through gate and straight ahead over field through kissing gate and over a bridge follow path to road and turn right back to the Pub. End of stage 7.
