The Red Lion is at the junction of Mill Lane and the High Street in the attractive pedestrianised centre of Godalming. We reccomend arriving earlier than usual to park, eat, and look around.

Godalming is on the A3100 4 miles south of Guildford, and 2 miles north of the A3 Milford junction.
Godalming has 5 car parks (most are free on Sundays) within 100 m of The Red Lion at The Mint, Mint Street, Station Road, Ockford Road and South Street. We suggest that you follow the A3100 into Godalming and when you see the signs for the station, park in the first car park you can find.

Public Transport

By train: The Red Lion is 300 m from Godalming Station. Trains run hourly from Guildford at 46 minutes past the hour from 07:46 onwards, and take 10 minutes. Return trains run at 56 minutes past the hour until 23:56.
From Godalming station, turn right down Station Approach which joins into Mill Lane. The Red Lion is at its pedestrianised end.

Walk & Location Information

The walk has riverside views and hilltop views, and passes several picturesque farms and cottages. There are also 2 fine old country pubs very close to the route. The paths are mostly good, but there is a 1km long section where baby-buggies will not be practical, and there are also 2 stiles.

The Red Lion is an old and popular pub in the pedestrianised centre of Godalming. It does a wide range of food, and 6 real ales, at very reasonable prices. There are 7 other pubs within 200 m, including a big Wetherspoons (The Jack Phillips, 48 High Street) which opens at 9 a.m. and has a full food menu.
