From Dorking: Follow A25 west towards Guildford. Pass through Westcott. Soon, after passing the Wotton Hatch pub on left, IGNORE first turn-off to left signposted Abinger Common/Friday Street/Leith Hill. Take next on left signposted Abinger Common. This is Raikes Lane. At next signpost turn left into Abinger Lane towards Abinger Common. The Abinger Hatch is some way ahead on the left.

From Guildford: Take A25 east towards Dorking. Eventually, after passing through Abinger Hammer, continue for about 0.6 miles, then take road on right signposted Abinger Common. This is Raikes Lane. At next signpost turn left into Abinger Lane towards Abinger Common. The Abinger Hatch is some way ahead on the left.

Public Transport

The Walk: An undulating 3.5 miles which includes a visit to the lake and pub at Friday Street, a lovely Surrey beauty spot at its best at this time of the year. The route is not suitable for children’s buggies.

The Venue: This well-known pub serves a selection of real ales and meals priced at £10.95 for a roast and around £9 to £10 for other hot dishes. There is a large garden and you can eat out there if the weather is fine. Those definitely intending to eat at the pub should book a table by ringing 01306 730737.
