Walk Information

This is an entirely flat and level 2 mile walk over fairly well made paths through woodland. The route crosses only one main road and is completely child friendly. It is accessible for those that use pushchairs or wheelchairs. As it is in woodland we should be shielded from all but the worst weather conditions. The walk takes in part of Horsell Common which HG Wells used as the setting for his story 'War of the Worlds'. We also pass close to the boundary of the McClaren technology centre for anybody who has been following Lewis Hamilton and the Mercedes team. We expect the walk to take not much more than an hour!

Venue Details

Sands is quite a smart venue with well prepared food that is still not beyond the appreciation of children. It would be prudent to pack a spare set of footwear and perhaps a change of outer clothes in case of inclement weather. It is very warm inside the restaurant. There is ample parking in the car park but please book a table if you want to leave your car there for the walk. Street parking is available for those who don't want to eat. Woking Station is only about 1 ½ miles away but you will need to get a cab to the restaurant on a Sunday. Sunday lunch is served and there is a good selection of drinks. If you want to eat please DO book in advance!
