The Old Eden PH, 121 High Street, Edenbridge, Kent, TN8 5AX
From M25 take Exit 6 (East Grinstead) then third roundabout exit on to A22. After 0.8 miles take first roundabout exit on to A25 (Oxted Road) for 0.8 miles then third roundabout exit on to A25 (Godstone Road) for 2.4miles. Turn right on to B269 for 2.8 miles straight on to B2026 for 2.3 miles. At roundabout take second exit, remaining on B2026. Straight on for 0.8 miles, continue over mini roundabout on B2026 through Edenbridge High Street. The Old Eden is at the far end of town on the left. The car park is at the far end of the pub on the left.

Public Transport

Trains to Edenbridge Town station (not Edenbridge station which is a long way from the town) are hourly on a Sunday from East Croydon at xx.58 change at Oxted arriving Edenbridge Town xx.42. Walk down Station Approach and turn left. Go through Edenbridge on the High Street and The Old Eden is at the far end of town on the left. Walking time 15 minutes. Return trains are at xx.06

Walk & Location Information

The Walk: This is a 3.2 mile flat walk with one stile and two footbridge with low bars to step over.
Mainly buggy friendly although may need to carry for a very short distance down narrow path after the stile.

The Venue: There is a large car park and a garden in which children are welcome. Mainly Westerham beers including "Old Eden Bitter" brewed especially for the pub.

Meals - important. The only food available on Sunday is the Sunday roast. It is freshly cooked and must be ordered in advance. Meals are served from 1.00pm to 3.00pm and cost £10.00. Please phone Linda or Roger Bell on 01732 862398 to place your order.

Stage 1

Cross road and over the bridge. At end of bridge turn sharp left down footpath onto grass path. Ahead and then to the right alongside the river. Path bends right at the weir (ignore path straight ahead) then continue ahead ignoring paths to the left and right until you arrive at the playing fields. Turn left to footbridge.

Stage 2

Over the footbridge and ahead. Cross small wooden footbridge and bear left following path alongside the river. Path bears right through trees then left along side of field.. Through gap in trees and hedge and ahead to footbridge.

Stage 3

Cross footbridge and go straight ahead over grass airstrip and on to marker post. Then follow along left hand side of field following the river. Eventually arrive at trees and a footbridge at a gap in the trees on the left.

Stage 4

Over the footbridge and immediately left on other side of the river to a gravel track. Left onto track and keep straight ahead until track bends to left where you go straight onto wide grass footpath. At end of path go through kissing gate then ahead along right hand side of the field to stile. Over the stile and ahead to road.

(Note: those of you requiring refreshment at this point should turn right and then right along main road, using pavement on the opposite side, for three minutes walk to the Wheatsheaf. in Marsh Green. Retrace your steps back to the start of stage five)

Stage 5

Turn left along road in front of church and ahead to kissing gate on a bend in the road. Through gate and ahead to gate on opposite side of field. Through kissing gate to left of main gate, cross the track and through kissing gate opposite. Across field to gate in far right hand corner, through kissing gate and along right hand side of field. Through kissing gate then another a short distance ahead. Cross field to gate on opposite side in right hand corner.

Stage 6

Through kissing gate and ahead with fence on the right to the next kissing gate. Straight ahead through the trees and continue to road where the quiz walk ends. Cross road and turn left along pavement back to the pub.
