Starter Clues
Outside the pub in the main entrance forecourt area
Stage 1
Turn left out of pub, along Church road, soon passing church. Soon, just past apex of bend, right through kissing gate
and diagonally across cultivated field to far corner. Through opening/gate then about 50 yards ahead along top of next
field to stile on left where stage ends.
Stage 2
Over stile and directly across field, passing oak tree to stile by gate opposite. Over stile, cross road and take track
ahead passing to right of house. Continue along track, ignoring tracks, paths, etc left and right, until it eventually
peters out at entrances to two fields. Over stile by gate of right hand field and ahead (hedge on left). At far side,
over stile into next field and continue ahead to far side where, just after a small clump of trees/bushes, there is
another stile where stage ends
Stage 3
Over stile and turn right along side of field (hedge on rhs). At corner, over stile and ahead, then soon over another
stile and follow path ahead through trees. Over next stile and ahead along side of field (hedge on rhs) a short
distance to another stile. Over and follow path passing to right of house. Stage ends at road.
Stage 4
Cross road, turn left and walk on Right Hand Side, soon passing school entrance. After a similar distance, just past
"Little Flanchford" over stile on right. Bear right across field, passing large oak tree, to a bridge in far right
corner. Over bridge and follow path round to left, soon into another field. The path crosses diagonally to a stile by
gate at far corner, where stage ends.
Stage 5
Over stile and turn left along road. Stage ends after some distance, where the concrete expires into tarmac and stones.
Stage 6
Ahead for about 100 yards then turn right and follow grassy path through trees. This eventually leads out passing a
field on right. At metal gate crossing, through and ahead with hedge on right. At far side, through gate and ahead
along wide muddy track. Almost immediately pass a wide field entrance on right then on left and continue along track.
Very soon there is a large tree on right, then just a few yards on to a stile on right, where stage ends.
Stage 7
There are no answers to be found on the gravestones.
Over stile and turn left along top side of field. Just before reaching corner, left over bridge & stile and follow path soon crossing another bridge then diagonally across field. At opposite corner, over stile and through trees. Continue ahead through churchyard (do not turn right in front of church) and out through gate onto village green. Continue ahead. Walk ends at road just past the village pump.
