From Guildford town centre (station): take A281 south signposted Horsham. After approx. 1½ miles (2 Km) pass Shalford station on left. Bramley is a further 1½ miles. The Wheatsheaf is on the right.

From Horsham take A281 Guildford Road. Bramley is approx. 17 miles (27 Km). The Wheatsheaf is on the left.

Public Transport: 53 bus from Guildford Station at 45 mins past the hour to Bramley.

Route & Question Sheet

STARTERS 
All are visible from the area directly in front of the pub.

STAGE I 
Left from pub. Ahead at crossroads to Clock House Lane. No clues before this point. Left up lane. Continue ahead at footpath. Stage ends at kissing gate on right.

4. Make jam using earthly ingredients

STAGE II 
Right through gate. Follow Public Footpath (indicated by wooden posts) across golf course and down through car park. Follow golf club road. End of stage at “Danger Stop” sign painted in road.

6. 3 subtractions get the whole

STAGE III 
Ahead along road. Left at Public Footpath 50 yards before the main road. Diagonally left across the next road and ahead along path to the right of Gosden Farm House. End of stage at second Thames Water sign.

10. Flies south in winter. Doesn’t get very far
11. Brassy Ken says it in the undergrowth

STAGE IV
Continue ahead to road. Left here, then right along Unstead Lane. Right at towpath. End of stage at wooden bridge. (No clues on the roads. We did them all last time)

STAGE V 
Ahead to road.

STAGE VI 
(Anyone wishing to visit the Parrot for a pint should consult their financial adviser first.) Right over bridge, then immediate right along lane. Ahead past stile at cottages. At road, right then cross just before bridge. Continue right along road. End of stage at track on left.

17. Descendant of dinosaur. Perhaps a raptor?

STAGE VII 
Left along track. Bear right immediately after crossing a bridge and follow path by river. (If tired and not doing children’s clues you can stay with the main track. It’s easier walking but less fun.) The path rejoins the main track shortly before an arched bridge. Ahead under arch. End of stage at wooden post.

Bear right. Continue ahead at road on left. Ahead to road. Right here and left at crossroads to pub.
