From M25 Junction 9 (Leatherhead): Take A24 south, signposted Dorking. After about 5 miles (8 Km) pass through Dorking staying with A24 signposted Horsham. At large roundabout (approx. 5 miles, 8 Km, from Dorking) at Beare Green take A29, signposted Bognor Regis. After about 2 miles (3 Km), just before the green at Ockley, turn right into Lake Road (B2126). After further 2 miles (3 Km) arrive at Forest Green. The Parrot is on the left.

From Guildford: Take A25 east towards Dorking. At Abinger Hammer turn right into Felday Road (B2126). Continue for approx. 4½ miles (7 Km) through Holmbury St. Mary to Forest Green. The Parrot is on the left.

From Billingshurst: Take A29 north. At Ockley, just past the green, turn left into Lake Road (B2126). After approx. 2 miles (3 KM) arrive at Forest Green. The Parrot is on the left.

STARTERS

STAGE I 
(Stay on right-hand side of road throughout. No answers until you reach a telephone box on right). Leaving pub cross road and turn left. Eventually reach “Public Footpath” sign on right just before petrol station.

STAGE II 
Ahead, staying on right-hand side of road, to lane on right just past Z bend sign. Right along lane to house called “Sheepfields” on left.

STAGE III 
Continue until gates bar the way. Through rightmost gate into field. Keep fence on right to next gate nearby. Through this and head diagonally left to stile. Over and keep ahead with hedgerow on left. At corner bear round to right then quickly left through gate into next field. Ahead with fence on left. At corner of field go clockwise to nearby stile. Over stile, ahead with fence on right. After passing two adjacent troughs end stage at stile on right at corner of field.

STAGE IV
Round stile, turning right along grassy track. At T go left up concreted roadway. Soon, before reaching farn, turn right along “Public Footpath”. Over footbridge and, ignoring path bearing right, reach stile very close by. Over stile, turn right and follow fence past second stile to a third. Climb this, over footbridge then straight ahead through garden, passing beneath tall trees. Ahead onto driveway and proceed to road. Cross over, left and soon end stage at “Mill Lane”.

STAGE V 
Right along “Mill Lane”, keeping straight on when it becomes a stony track. At “Parkcotts” on right veer off left past garage to nearby gate. Follow path to next gate. Ahead along edge of field with hedgerow on right. At corner walk round gate then head diagonally right towards distant telegraph pole. Just before pole pass to right of wooden post and keep ahead, hugging broken hedgerow on left. End stage at corner of field.

STAGE VI 
Into field in front, heading diagonally left towards telegraph pole. At pole continue diagonally to stile about 25 yards away. Over stile, cross bridge, ahead on narrow path to road. Cross over and take “Public Footpath” over to left. Immediately over stile then skirt field clockwise with hedgerow on left until eventually reaching stile just past trough. Over stile, following narrow path until wooden post with yellow pointers soon comes into view. Here turn right then almost immediately left along track. When another track merges from left bear right to nearby trackway at right angles.

STAGE VII 
Left up trackway. At narrow road turn right. End stage at main road.

STAGE VIII 
Cross over and turn left downhill. At T junction and sign-post go right to grassy path on right very close by. Along path, soon with hedgerow on right. Follow path over two stony tracks near forge and rejoin road. Cross over, turn left then almost immediately right along narrow path across green. Continue past pitch to road. Cross over and turn left to pub sign.
