Walk Information
An interesting old inn with a good selection of food and beers. Not normally necessary to book but inside seating is limited - plenty of outside tables. Open from 12 noon to 11 p.m.on Sundays. There is a large car park to rear of pub, just follow road to left of pub garden.

The walk is mostly flat but may be muddy. A fair number of stiles, so not really suitable for pushchairs.

Route & Question Sheets

(House names may or may not be used)

1. Where can you hear music?
2. But it`ll sound more like Live Earth if you can rustle up - yes! a new grand.
3. Lift the speed limit? No, quite the opposite.

Stage 1

Go down bank to left of pub on to bridle way and turn right. Follow this until you reach first stile on your right. Go over this and follow path between fences for some time, going over stiles on the way, finally reaching a kissing gate where stage ends

4. Can`t be North or South but wherever they put it don`t remove it!
5. TT for two?
6. Did Scott got the news this way, that it would be a struggle to the pole and worse coming back?
7. Look for the pre-war rented property. They are in there somewhere.

Stage 2

Go down bank to road (WATCH OUT FOR TRAFFIC) and cross to Trumpets Hill Road. Go down there until private road/bridleway on left, then almost immediately bear left on to grass footpath alongside electric fence. Keep straight, through stiles and ignoring side paths, and on down through woodland to the end of stage at bridge by pond.

11. Luckily someone gave them a ring before disaster struck.

Stage 3

After the bridge, climb straight ahead and as you come out of woods by signpost turn sharp left (ignore paths straight ahead and to right) and the path widens and turns across cornfield. After bridge and stile go forward, to right of large oak tree, and follow path across field. After a stile turn left and follow path, later crossing stiles then going to right of house and reaching road where stage ends

12. A far off fruit.
13. Four crooks and three idiots - how can you make out these people?
14. Across the field count the stacks on show
But before you do, say `Hey Nonny No`
15. Is everyone allowed on this track?

Stage 4

Turn left at road. THERE ARE NO CLUES ON ROAD. Please be careful on the road, walk on right hand side facing traffic, in single file. Anyone with children be EXTRA CAREFUL. After crossing a narrow bridge turn right on to track/footpath where CLUES BEGIN. At house go left on to footpath and follow this through fields and woods and crossing track, finally coming out by house on road where stage ends.

16. If you sort out the stile, the Lord will take care of the rest.
17. A Model-T which should run for miles!
18. Going forward the way is pretty clear
But much more mysterious to the rear.
19. Clearly by sight and sound,
We know who they would like around.

Stage 5

Turn left at road. NO CLUES ON THESE TWO STRETCHES OF ROAD, and please beware fast traffic and exercise GREAT CARE as for the previous stage. After 200 metres turn sharp right down Clayhall Lane and after another 200 metres turn left on to footpath where CLUES BEGIN. Follow footpath over field and up bank over another field and at signpost turn left. Follow path round dog leg and to kissing gate at road where stage ends.
