Location
Exit the A3 onto the
B3000 (Approx 3 miles south of Guildford) head towards Godalming,
continue through the village of Compton eventually arriving at
a roundabout. Turn right onto the A3100 (Meadrow) still following
signs to Godalming, the Leathern Bottle is on your right next
to a public car park which is free on Sundays.
Public Transport
The Nearest station is Farncombe, approx 10 minute walk to
the pub. Please click on the link for train timetable and availability,

Directions From Farncombe
Station (On foot)
Walk out of the station and down the approach. Cross the road
and turn right into St Johns Road, take footpath to the left
at far side of St Johns church. Keep going straight ahead to
end. Cross The Oval/Fern Road and continue on footpath straight
ahead by the allotments, down to the main road. The Leathern
Bottle is immediately on your right.

Walk Information
The walk is mainly
flat with a couple of very gentle and short inclines. There are
three stiles all in excellent state of repair, solid with good
handholds.
The Leathern Bottle does meals on Sunday lunchtime and is open
all day. For lunch reservations call 01483 425642. The beer is
Hogs Back TEA and Hair of the Hog.

Stage II
Through gate and
turn left then left again along the tow path. Straight ahead
on tow path to metal gate before the road.

Through gate, cross
the road and through gate on the other side back down to the
tow path. Follow tow path straight ahead to bridge where stage
ends.

Stage IV
Ignore bridge and
continue ahead along tow path. Eventually arrive at a wooden
gate.

Through gate to road and
turn right. Follow road over bridge, straight on until you cross
two white metal bridges. At end of second white bridge turn right
into Unstead Lane to stile immediately after gate on your right.
Stage V
Over stile and
turn left. Follow path along the fence around the right of the
field to a stile in the far corner (hidden until you actually
get there). Over this stile and then another. Turn right onto
public bridleway until you reach a gate ahead, where stage ends.

Stage VI
Take the path to
the right of the gate. Keep following this path until you reach
a farm. Carry on past the farm buildings to the end where path
meets a junction.

Stage VII
Turn right then
along track and over bridge. Turn left at end of bridge and back
down the tow path until you come to a wooden kissing gate. Through

gate in the far corner where the walk ends.
