Location
Exit the M25 at junction 7 onto the M23 southbound (towards Gatwick Airport). Exit the M23 at junction 10A onto the B2036 on arriving at the village of Balcombe turn left into Haywards Heath Road and the Half Moon Inn is on the left.

Public Transport
Balcombe station is a 10 minute walk away from the pub (see map for directions) There is a hourly train service on Sundays, please click on the link for timetable and route planner www.nationalrail.co.uk

Walk Information
The walk is clued for 3 miles with fine views, water feathures, one early steady climb, several stiles and the odd cow pat!!
Sunday lunch is available please call 01444 811582 for reservations.
There is a variety of beers available including Harveys Sussex and Fullers London Pride.
The pub has no car park, but there is plenty of parking available in the surrounding roads.

Stage I
From the pub turn left and then soon right. Follow the path down to the Cricket Club. At the pitch follow the public footpath signs to the left. After the kissing gate, keep left along the field and then turn right at the finger posts. Follow the path down through the fields to the kissing gate at Balcombe Lake.

Stage II
From the kissing gate turn left by Balcombe Lake and follow the track up hill. Stage ends at the right turn from the track shown by the finger posts.

Stage III
Turn right from track. Follow the footpath to the top of the hill. Stage ends at the three way finger posts.

Stage IV
Follow the track to the T Junction. Turn right along the road. After the houses the stage ends at the "Slow" sign on the road.

Stage V
Clues restart at the"Paddockhurst Lane" road sign.
Turn right at the T Junction. At the gate opposite Edmunds Farm (see the Public Bridleway sign) turn left. Stay right in the field and follow the valley down to the gate by Ardingly Reservoir.

Turn right and follow the path by the reservoir until it rejoins the road. Turn left and follow the road down to the sluice bridge before "The Mill" house.

Stage VII
From the bridge at "the Mill", follow the road to the finger posts on the right. Turn right and follow the path back to Balcombe Lake.
