Stage I
Left out of pub,
follow the Harpsden Road for ¼ mile. Turn right onto bridleway.
Take well-established path through wood. Stage ends at tree with
white arrow just beyond muddy stretch of path.
|
4, |
Watch it kids! This characters red
And may be lurking under the bed |
|
5, |
Is appearing twice, that much is clear
As well as a musical term we hear |
|
6, |
This vessel demonstrates political partiality
If Teds, how appropriate its seen in the locality |
Stage II
Continue through
the wood, ignoring turn-offs. At end of wood the path becomes
a driveway. Keep on this drive, which at one point turns right
then left in area of Upper Bolney House. Stage ends at ASH FARM
a little further on.

Stage III
Continue ahead,
then just beyond LITTLE SPINNEYS (as the lane is about to bear
left), turn right between wooden and metal post and take path
across field to far side, where stage ends.

Stage IV
Over stile, then
ahead into the trees, with wood on left, field on right. Follow
this path as it dips down then up again, then emerge into the
open. Cross track and keep ahead with hedge on left and trees
on right. (Note the fine view across to Wargrave Manor at gap
in hedge on LH side after a short while). Turn right on reaching
dusty track. After about 150 yards, go left into field just beyond
KILN HOUSE and follow RH side of field. Stage ends at road.

Stage V
Turn right and
follow the road, keeping to RH side. (Theres no need for
you to go through the pub car park). A short distance beyond
the pub, take elevated footpath on right which runs parallel
to the road for a while. After coming back down onto the road
continue for about another 250 yards. Other than stopping to
read interesting history of local pond and well, its probably
best to keep to RH side of road, taking great care with traffic.
Shortly after passing Well Cottage take footpath on right. When
path in field bears right, keep ahead to LH corner and over stile.
Turn left and head towards trees and houses. Go through gap in
hedge, stage ends a little way

Young
Walkers Questions
There are seven clues to solve, one
for each stage. All the answers are connected with animals or
birds.
When you have solved the clue write the answer on the dotted
lines. Then put the actual name of the animal (or bird) in the
spaces on the right hand side of the page.
The 7 letters that are underlined in RED can be re-arranged to make the name of something
else that you might see in the country. Theres an extra
point if you can find out what that is.
