Location: Wotton is approximately 3 miles (5 Km) west of Dorking along the A25 (Guildford Road). The Wotton Hatch is in a very prominent position on that road.

Public Transport: Dorking is about 3 miles to the east and is well served by trains for London and the southeast. Also, there is a less frequent cross-country service through Gomshall (approx 1½ miles to the west). Bus services may not be frequent, particularly on a Sunday.

STARTERS

STAGE I
Cross the main road with care as there is fast moving traffic and follow a drive way sign posted to the church of ST John the Evangelist. On reaching the church turn left and go over a style into a field. Follow the church wall until you reach a style in it, do not cross the style but go diagonally left across the field to reach another style with a yellow arrow on it. Go over the style onto a path soon reaching some woods where stage ends.

STAGE II
Continue through woods staying on the main path soon reaching a style. Go over it into a field and keep going straight ahead to the opposite side where you reach a gate. Go through the gate and turn sharp right almost going back on yourself onto a straight track heading towards a house. Continue past the house stage ends after metal gates on your left.
 7. A famous postman's awaiting action.

STAGE III
Continue on the track bending left until you reach the second finger post with crossing paths. Turn right onto a narrower path through bushes and continue past some gardens until you reach a road where the stage ends.

STAGE IV
Turn left onto the drive way and soon to reach the main road, where you turn left and continue for about 200 yards. Cross the road with care into Rookery Drive, follow the drive bending round to the right past Spring House where stage ends.

STAGE V
Carry on to the end of the driveway where you turn left onto a public bridle way soon passing some houses on your right. Continue on the path past a style on your right with a field on your left. The path leads into woods and goes up hill to a T-junction at the top. Turn right onto a sandy track and keep going until you reach a style on your left where stage ends.
 17. There is wealth in the lowest ranks.

They need some match making to make them one.

STAGE VI
Go over the style into a field where walk through a clearing to another style opposite. Go over it and turn left onto a track for 25 yards then turn right onto a path into woods. Carry on down hill staying on the path crossing a driveway eventually reaching a lane where you turn right. Continue along the lane with sandy banks on each side, going past a house on your right reaching a telephone poll on your left where stage ends.

STAGE VI
Continue along the lane until you reach the main road (A25) where walk ends, the pub is on your left.
