Location:
The Coach & Horses is a Youngs pub in Barnes High Street, which is on the South side of the River Thames near Barnes Bridge (railway). Parking restrictions do not apply on a Sunday.

Public Transport:
Many buses go to Barnes (for details telephone 020 7222 1234) and trains (Sunday service) go to Barnes Bridge from Waterloo at xx.57 and Clapham Junction at xx.07. Journey time 11 minutes from Clapham Junction.

STAGE I

Turn right out of front of pub and walk down Barnes High Street to bottom. Cross road to the pond
.
Turn right after crossing road then fork left onto path past the pond. Follow path straight ahead, cross bridge then turn left. Straight ahead to lamp post 106 where stage ends.

STAGE II
Take path on left at lamp post 106 and straight ahead eventually arriving at road. Cross road at the traffic lights, turn right then immediately bear left onto Ranleigh Path. Straight ahead on tarmac then narrower footpath. Stage ends at lamp post 206.

9. Fabulous big bird back between the first and the fourteenth with prospects of growth

STAGE III
Left at lamp post 206 onto narrow footpath. Straight ahead, pass between two wooden posts and straight ahead to field. Left along edge of field , ahead through gap in the trees and turn right to green bridge in distance. Over bridge and turn right. Follow path all the way to the River Thames where the stage ends.

STAGE IV
Turn left onto Thames Path. ( Note: there is a Cub and Scout hut just along path that serves light refreshments on a Sunday ). Straight along path until you come to a junction with Thames Cycle Path signposted to the left. End of stage.

STAGE V
Straight ahead along Thames Path to the "Cyclists Dismount" sign immediately before Hammersmith Bridge where stage ends.

STAGE VI
Continue ahead on Thames Path until it eventually goes up an incline and joins the pavement next to the road where stage ends.

STAGE VII
Continue straight ahead to pedestrian crossing where stage ends.
Turn left down Barnes High Street back to the Coach and Horses.
