From the M25: Approx 3 miles (5 Km). Leave at Junction 9 and follow signs to Dorking (A24). At Givons Grove roundabout, A24 becomes dual carriageway. After approx. 1 mile, on a bend, there are a few houses and FRASCATI restaurant on left - immediately take track beside houses (BYTTOM HILL). Pub is behind houses.

From Dorking: Take A24 north, past station (traffic lights), vinyard (roundabout), hotel (second roundabout). Road continues as dual carriageway and it is better to continue approx 4 miles to Givons Grove roundabout and double back approx. 1 mile to a few houses and FRASCATI restaurant on left - immediately take track beside houses (BYTTOM HILL). Pub is behind houses.

Public Transport: Dorking Station is about 2½ miles (4Km)

STAGE I 
(No answers on underlined section) 
Descend pub steps and go left downhill to lane on left just before dual carriageway. Left into lane, pass school on left, then at “Residents Only” sign bear round to right. Soon ignore recreation ground and bear round to right again, passing houses. On meeting another path at right angles turn right to dual carriageway.
4. This body’s beginnings are exactly the same

STAGE II 
(No answers on underlined section) 
Cross dual carriageway. then turn left to bridge over river. Cross bridge and stay on tarmac roadway. Eventually ignore turning to left (marked “Authorised Vehicles Only”) and continue past “Mickleham Priory” to fork. Left at fork to kiss-gate some way ahead. 
Note: Clue 10 might not be visible

STAGE III 
Ahead through kiss-gate and pass under railway bridge. Stay on track through woods, ignoring all turnings off to the right until reaching tarmac roadway at right angles. Right. Continue up roadway to “Norbury Park” on left.

STAGE IV
Continue uphill. At fork (picnic tables here - also on Stages 5 and 6) keep left and soon walk round half barrier. Ahead. Eventually end stage when wire mesh fence swings left. 
Note: Clue 14 was missing on the day of the walk

STAGE V
Left along by fence. Soon, when fence swings left again, keep ahead on path to nearby viewpoint (picnic table here - also on Stage 6). Bear slightly left to “Druids Grove” pointer and follow zigzag path downhill. On meeting path at right angles turn right for about 75 yards, then left on downhill path. Soon squeeze between bushes to open hillside. Veer slightly right and descend grassy path, soon passing through wooded area to track at right angles at bottom.

STAGE VI
Left. When another track merges from the right do hairpin right turn and go through kiss-gate into picnic area. Out through another kiss-gate, then after a few yards left along track towards farm. Over river and stay on “Footpath”, skirting farm outbuildings. On emerging from farm complex keep ahead (ignoring track sweeping to right) and carefully cross railway lines. End stage at dual carriageway in front.

STAGE VII

Cross dual carriageway carefully to track opposite. Ahead. Continue without deviating until eventually reaching “The Running Horses” pub and road. Cross over to bus stop, right for a few yards, then left through gate into churchyard. Along path beside wall on left. At tap go left and follow path to narrow roadway in front.

STAGE VIII
Right up roadway, continuing past houses to gates at end. Through latch gate on left, follow path past cottage and soon veer left as indicated by yellow pointer. Continue on path, ignoring first turn off on left. Eventually go left down second turn off (just past “Bridleway” sign), soon descending by side of pub. End stage at “Public Footpath” sign at bottom of steps.
