February 2010 Hello Everyone, Welcome to a new decade, a decade that promises to see our club thrive as the popularity of quizwalking soars to new heights. Last year saw record attendances; this year I am confident the numbers will increase even more. After all we are unique in what we do and the dedication of our members is a fantastic recipe for continuing success. So it's time again to get those walking boots cleaned, as winter is almost over and spring is just around the corner. I know we all can't wait to be out in the countryside enjoying the pastime that we so love. We have a bumper line up this year, including an extra quizwalk, as we have two walks being organised by new organisers, namely: Elizabeth Gurteen & Brenda Watson; and Darren Goodsell & Jamie Whale. I really appreciate them volunteering. Good luck! I am sure your walks will be in fantastic locations with great clues to solve. Robert Whale has got a taste for victory, winning the league two years on the trot, so Robert and Sue will be starting the season with the 2009 Andi'Cap walk. Can he make this year a hat-trick? The website has been undergoing a make-over behind the scenes; the new site will be launched before the start of this year's season. As always walk information will go on as soon as organisers submit it, so keep your eyes peeled. Annual subscriptions are to remain at £2 for adult members. Please give them to Kath Biggs (Club Treasurer) next time you see her. Below are the dates for this year's
events and who is organising them. If you require any specific
information about any forthcoming walks please see the Diary
& Walks section on the website or contact Roger Heath 01737
352832 or James Biggs 07889 384047. Events for 2010
Lastly, please don't forgot to tell your friends and family about quizwalks and bring them along. New faces are always welcome. And please remember children are always welcome too, especially on Peter Evans's Walk (23rd May 2010) where the children's clues are set by his children, Kiran & Zara. I will look forward to seeing you in the countryside soon. Good quizwalking! James Chairman
