Stage 1

All answers are visible from, and within, the pub forecourt.

Stage 2

Go right out of pub, over level crossing. Turn left down unmarked footpath, then right through kissing- gate. Continue across a gravel drive through gap in hedge. Left at road. Keep ahead to Fellmongers Farm where stage ends.

Stage 3

Keep ahead on this road, which, after passing Bolney Court, bears right. Soon take footpath ahead on left alongside private drive. [Note the charming miniature railway to your right.] Continue past remains of old kissing-gate to wooden five-bar gate, where stage ends.

Stage 4

Continue ahead, over small wooden bridge and follow path as it bears left joining the river. Keep on path until eventually you reach footbridge which takes you into middle of river past lock and weir. When you return to river-bank, follow road straight ahead, away from the river (this is Mill Lane). Stage ends at lamp-post on right shortly after passing private road.

Stage 5

Keep ahead on lane, over railway bridge, eventually reaching main road. Cross road with care and take Noble Road (slightly to right). When road splits (with Watermans Road) take path straight ahead (this is Peppard Lane). This gradually ascends until you reach end of stage at junction with Harpsden Way.

Stage 6

Cross road then turn left and follow the RH side of Harpsden Way. After a while, the pavement peters out: keep ahead on RH side and continue downhill, taking care with oncoming traffic. At bend in road, take raised path on right as far as old barn buildings. [Note the carved tiles on the barn walls: these were originally used for printing patterns on wallpaper.] Now cross road and continue on LH side of road for a short way to 30 mph speed limit sign, where stage ends.

Stage 7

Following Woodlands Road sign, take bridleway on LH side uphill into wood. At fork, bear left (following blue arrow & QW sign). Keep ahead with fence on left eventually re-emerging onto road. Bear left and follow road. Ignore footpath straight ahead when road bears to left. At crossroads (Little Beeches) go left down bridleway. Stage ends some way down, between the two house-name signs for 'GREEN ACRES'.

Stage 8

Continue to main road. Once again, cross with great care, then immediately diagonally right over stile and across field between wooden fences. At end of field go through kissing gate and then follow road back to the pub.
