Stage 2

Take footpath across village green towards the church. Pass to left of church and continue on left side of road. Stage ends at school main entrance.

Stage 3

Continue ahead (cross road when pavement expires). Soon cross "Dodds Park". Upon reaching "Dodds Park" again, re- cross major road and take footpath left just after Way House. Continue; pass allotments then back of houses. Eventually, where footpath bears sharp right, ahead through metal gate into field. Bear right to gate at top right corner of field, where stage ends.

Stage 4

Just ahead is where Roger had a bout of falling-down sickness. The helicopter that took him to hospital landed in the field to your right. Through gate and ahead along top side of field. Continue past 3-finger signpost then soon after passing four oak trees bear right along sign-posted footpath and exit field through gate to left of red-brick house. Continue to road then turn right. After short distance (<100 yds) and just before house on left, turn left along footpath. Continue across fields to road where stage ends.

Stage 5

Cross road turn left. Very soon take footpath right alongside house (this can get overgrown but it is worth persevering). Continue past back gardens then over bridge crossing stream. Continue along side of field (hedge on your left). Eventually exit field to road and turn right. Stage ends at stile on left immediately after large barns.

Stage 6

Over stile and across yard to the larger and newer of the two bridges. Take concrete/gravel track away from toad. After telegraph pole #9 take footpath right (not well signposted) along side of field with hedge on heft. Continue along side of several fields to Pondtail Farm. Cross stile and farm track, continue ahead along side of field to next stile/gate where stage ends.

Stage 7

Cross stile and continue ahead. At next stile (at T-junction) over and turn right along wide track. Stage ends at road.

Turn left along road. Arriving at village green, cross main road towards The Royal Oak and ahead to The Dukes Head where walk ends
