The 'Wander from the Windsor', Ye Olde Windsor Castle, Little Bookham

Stage 1

All clues are visible on the front of the pub.

Q 1Put out by this sign of the times.

Stage 2

Out of pub turn right. At Preston Cross, cross the road to your left at the island before the roundabout, continue a little way along then cross again and continue walking along the left hand side of Rectory Lane. Just past Preston Cross Hotel cross over to the right hand side of the road and go up the little public footpath. Cross the road and continue along the footpath on the other side. Go past the church and on your right the actual public footpath is almost immediately blocked by a fallen tree. Instead follow a path across the edge of the school playing field parallel to the public path.
EOS 2 is where the playing field meets the road.

Stage 3

At the road turn right and continue with the nursery on your left. At Manor House Lane cross the main road and walk up Water Lane. Follow this as the surface gets increasingly less well made. The track bends round a field to the left where there is a junction with a footpath on your right. Follow this footpath into the woods.
EOS 3 is at the first of the "V" stiles.

Stage 4

Step through the stile and continue straight ahead with the hedgerow on your left. Through a green gate and step through the next stile and follow the path across a small bridge. At the road turn left. At the junction on the bend turn left again. After a while a footpath crosses the road. Take the right hand path.
EOS 4 is as the footpath emerges out onto the next road.

Stage 5

Follow the path on the left hand side of the road. At the bend in the road cross over and continue straight ahead along Maddox Lane.

Stage 6

Turn left where it says 'No Through Road' and follow this road round to the right past the allotments. Over cattle grid and at junction of footpaths bear right along Public Bridleway towards Great Bookham. Over the bridge and at next, three way, junction bear right. Past Manor Cottage on your left and at the junction turn right over the bridge.
EOS 6 is at the cattle grid before the car park.

Stage 7

Follow the path straight ahead through the car park. At the road carry straight on over the railway bridge. At the road junction cross over to the pavement on the left hand side and continue along Little Bookham Street. At the shop cross over to the right hand side and continue to the pub.
EOS 7 and EOW is the edge of the pub grounds.
